A female mosquitofish (Gambusia affinis) from Slidell, LA

I haven't used this space in a long time, but it's time to get some news and updates posted again! First up - the paper we recently published describing the results of our work last summer with mosquitofish exposed to residential wastewater effluent is now published in the journal Toxics and was selected as an Editor's Choice article! You can learn more about this project by watching the video produced by local photographer Joe Fontenot on our Research page (scroll down). Our work was also highlighted in a local news article at nola.com. This project was an unexpected surprise and a labor of love during the hottest and driest summer on record in Louisiana. But we ended up with more questions than answers and continue addressing these issues as a new line of research in the lab!
